Lee Foster

Author, travel writer, photographer, and electronic travel publishing pioneer  

Lee Foster is a veteran travel writer/photographer who publishes widely in print but is especially known for his pioneering work in electronic travel publishing.

Lee's most recent guidebooks are Northern California History Weekends (Globe Pequot) and Adventure Guide to Northern California (Hunter).

Lee was the first travel writer to publish profitably in the new electronic milieu when he signed a contract with CompuServe in 1983. His website for Foster Travel Publishing (www.fostertravel.com) has writing from 200 worldwide destinations and has won a Lowell Thomas Award. His stock photo website, stockphotos.fostertravel.com, offers thousands of top-quality travel photos, including those featured in more than 225 Lonely Planet guidebooks.

Lee's latest book is a literary work titled Travels in an American Imagination: The Spiritual Geography of Our Time.
