Orlando, Florida

The SATW Institute for Travel Writing & Photography is held annually in Orlando, Florida.

Orlando/Orange County is the family vacation capital of the world, Central Florida’s hub of arts, education and science, and a sophisticated dining and lodgings destination.

Orlando is clean, friendly, appealing, efficient, modern (but with interesting historic districts), manageable in size (but growing fast), and fun.

It's a city of lakes. Orlando's many lakes lend beauty, coolness, calm and a sense of space to the otherwise busy urban atmosphere. Ringed by shady walkways and parks dotted with fountains, benches and playgrounds, the lakes put the beauties of nature right next to the shops, restaurants, offices and homes of downtown Orlando.

Downtown Orlando is compact enough so that walking from one place of interest to another is often easy, quick and pleasant.
